About
Ryan Lum is an award-winning designer specializing in branding, web design, and web development. He is currently working with several start-up and non-profit companies to develop front-end web design and smart brand strategies to further promote and enhance the impact of their web presence.
A recent graduate from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Communications Advertising, he discovered his passion for advertising and design earlier on in high school. Spending much of his free time designing websites for family and friends, he furthered his design acumen by expanding his portfolio to include art and photography classes. Before the completion of the quarter, he was asked to assist and conduct special photography classes for his fellow students. During his high school years, he won several art and photography awards, culminating with one photograph selected to be displayed in Congresswoman, Ellen Tauscher’s office.
While attending San Diego State University, he not only selected a major that would keep him on the pulse of design, but also participated in outside activities to give him additional experience and breadth in this field. He became a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, the fraternity receiving the highest campus GPA, Buchanan Cup, and the Standards of Excellence Silver Laurel Chapter-IFC Dean’s Trophy.
As a member he participated in a number of community service events such as MS Walk and the Surf Rider Foundation, and also took on the job of technology chair. His on-campus activities include being elected as Vice-President of the SDSU Ad Club and selected as an intern for the SDSU Entrepreneurial Management Center, where under direct supervision of the program director, he was noted as having a great understanding of branding and clean design.
A recipient of the March 2010 American Design Award, his online portfolio can be reviewed at www.RyanLum.com and is also currently featured on several CSS Design Gallery websites.
